Matrix 1985/2018
Past and present come together to illustrate
the most intriguing interior design experience.
Two visionary re-editions of the Matrix
division from the eighties.
Dryby Massimo Morozzi
50250by Adriano and Paolo Suman
The retelling of the past became a starting point for thinking about tomorrow. With this consciousness, Giorgetti revisits his experience identifying in the excitement of the 80's one of the most defining moments of his manufacture and the whole design industry.
To emphasise this conviction, Giorgetti delved into its archives and unearthed two visionary designs, Dry and 50250 by Matrix, a division of the company founded in 1985, to produce collections characterised by the breakthrough sculptural style and decidedly free-thinking concept.
The first one is a chair and armchair, by Massimo Morozzi, made without using any type of glue. The 32 pieces which make up the chair are dry assembled and interlocked with the use of only one metal connecting screw. The polychrome amplifies the original character of the seat. The second, by Adriano and Paolo Suman, is a folding armchair with a high-tech element. Hinges are located in the centre of the seat and the backrest is flexible.
