"Montgomery is a project born from a single detail. The Austrian knot—a type of lacing that characterises Montgomery coats of the ‘80s and ‘90s—was the cornerstone and the focus of the project. The lines of the chair and the small armchair revolve around this detail and recall the collections of some historic designers from the 1970s. We all tend to design chairs that are beautiful when seen from the front, but in reality you normally see a chair from the back because it faces a table in the home. We wanted to lend importance, character and personality to the chair even when it is not being used and is simply being looked at."
