Massimo Morozzi DESIGNER

Massimo Morozzi 1

Graduated in Florence, he co-founded the Archizoom group in 1967, of which he was a member until 1972. Coordinator of the Montefibre Design Centre (1972-77), he was a member of the CDM group (Milan Design Consultants), with which he developed coordinated image projects.

Among the numerous awards he received is the Compasso d'oro for research in 1979.
His works are in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris.

He has collaborated with numerous companies, including Alessi, Cassina, Driade, Edra and Nissan. For Giorgetti he designed the Dry chair in 1988, made with the interlocking technique, assembled without the use of any glue. Its 32 components are completely separable. The polychromy available amplifies the original character. Dry belonged to the Matrix collection, a division of Giorgetti founded in 1985 to produce pieces characterised by a sculptural and revolutionary style and a concept free of schemes.

For its 120th anniversary in 2018, Giorgetti rediscovered two visionary chairs in its archives, namely Dry by Massimo Morozzi and 50250 by Adriano and Paolo Suman, re-editing them.
